Oh my day has been made. The worst part about my job is all the FCC regulations... oddly this is also the best part of my job.
For those who are unfamiliar the FCC is requiring all persons using a relay service to be registered. This has caused no end of suck with people not wanting to give over personal information (these are the same people who have no problem giving us their credit card numbers and social security numbers to relay
).
I had a fun one today, call came in, not registered, well, I look at my calender... joy of joys, it is past the registration deadline, I can start being the relay equivelent to the soup nazi.
I type in my newpitch quickword which sends the message basically saying that the FCC requires all persons be registered and I cannot proceed until they register, would they like me to assist in registering.
They say no, I refuse to give that information.
So I type in my mustregister quickword, which is basically the same thing, except not as nice.
They say no again, now I get to do what I feel is going to be my most favorite part of the job.
I get to type out norelay4u
OK, so I know that it doesn't actually send that message, it's a quickword for a message about how I am unable to proceed with the call until they register, when they are ready to register please go to (website) or type register in their relay software... but still, I like to think of myself as the soup nazi saying norelay4u
I was impressed, this particular SC got off an entire line of protest before I was able to close his session.
