  • Are you just taking someone else's pasta?

    This happened just yesterday.

I'm working the Make-Your-Own-Pasta station at the food court. Customers order what they want, I put it in a bowl along with a number, I give a copy of the number to the customer, I hand the bowl off to the chefs, then they come get it when it's ready. It was pretty fun until one guy came up.

He did not have a small order. We have 10 ingredients plus 2 cheeses. He wanted nearly everything and he told me to 'put a lot on' with a couple things. This bowl was nearly overflowing with ingredients. When time came to give him his number, he started to walk off.

I say, "Excuse me, sir! You need to take your number!"

He stops, takes the number, and replies, "Oh! Well... it's okay, really. I just take whatever's up there anyway." After that, he walks off.

I had to stop and think about that. There was still a full line of customers, but I had to just turn that phrase over in my head. Does this guy just take someone's pasta? I shook it off.

Sure enough, someone came up and complained that they couldn't find the pasta they ordered. What the crap.
    SPEAK UP.

So this guy purposefully used more ingredients, costing you more money, and then stole another person's food, costing you money to replace it? What a jerkface!

Well now you know what he looks like. I say charge him double.

You should make him take ONLY the pasta for which he has the number for; otherwise it could technically be stealing, especially if it's already been paid for.
