    I was being pedantic. There aren't "degrees" of stealing, either legally, ethically, or logically. Stealing is an action. If you're only "kinda" stealing, then there's a word out there that probably better describes what you're doing.

      Yes. Borrowing without permission.

      Difference being that when you borrow without permission, you put the item back before the owner realizes it's gone. When you steal, you keep it.

      Sort of the way I borrowed my mom's car a few times when I was 15. When she was asleep. At 3 am. And two years before I got my license.
