Actually, according to Wiki and the Skytrain page, there are 3 Skytrain routes, and one of them actually travels N/S. However, the one(s) that hit Broadway, go in a generally WNW/ESE direction, so my contention that I never made it that far south (I started at the westernmost end and only went a few stations down when I was there) is factually correct.

The N/S is the Canada line, yar. It only opened this past summer. But the Expo line is clearly marked Eastbound/Westbound on the station platforms. So har! =p

    ehehe.

So you were starting at Waterfront and heading downtown or?

I think my hotel was near Burrard on W Georgia, and I was only heading down to GM Place, so it was a really short trip. The only time I went anywhere else, was a day-trip by bus to Butchart because my mother and aunt had never been.

Ahh, Burrard to Stadium. Yeah, you didn't come close to the docking bay of crazy that is Broadway. Or more specifically the freak cargo line that is them coming in from Surrey to Broadway. >.>

SC: “Because everything goes in threeeees

….allllright. That was a little creepy. I’m not even going to venture to ask what you mean by “everything”. As I fear it may lead to an exhaustive police search and the discovery of a hidden shed in the woods on your property where everything, and indeed everyone, has been separated into threes.
Well, there is the Law of Three. But, like you, I don't think that's what he was talking about....

I'd object to this characterisation of Surrey, as I have relatives there, then I remembered who these relatives are.

Hey, the dude rocks. He found the key that none of the rest of us thinking humans could ever find. I, too, am impressed.

I just don't want to know where he found that key. Because I am relatively certain it was not on the keyboard.
Depends where he bought it. I know a man, an old friend of my father's, who is a reseller of Acer desktop systems. His standard setup includes a keyboard with the word ANY printed on the space bar. Apparently he's run into this very problem before.

Or the dude could be mistaking ALT for ANY, I suppose that's possible.

Best to avoid taking the Skytrain that far east after dark....or at any other time of the day.

(Surrey does have some gorgeous areas, but they are nowhere near the Skytrain line).

I grew up in North Delta. In the 70's. By the age of 7 I'd learned the tired old joke about Surrey girls.

And in the early 90's I was taking the Skytrain every day from the King George terminal to Metrotown, but if I had a day to kill I'd ride from end to end just for the chance of lulz. So I was easy to amuse at that age. But you pretty much only get the good stuff if you're a late-night regular. Especially on weekends. I have seen things...things no sane mortal should ever have to see. Day-glo spandex is the least disturbing thing I've seen. Lotion guy wouldn't even make me blink, even if I did have to bust out the old inhaler so the fumes didn't give me an instant asthma attack.

I REALLY look forward to the Skytrain stories, GK. If not least because of the reactions they usually get.
