Yeah that'd be the same person alright. I'm thinking of starting a store pool and taking bets on when she'll lose her job.

And the reason it upset me is because the regional manager lady made me look like a moron because I refused to do something that was incredibly UNREASONABLE and in most companies wouldn't be allowed.
A tip: Never be the guy who says "no." Be the guy who escalates. Tell them flat out you don't have the authority to do whatever they're asking, but point them to someone who may. It's easier that way.

I stopped caring about being overridden on policy about three months into my second tour of duty at the Record Store. It's just not worth fighting some people. I wouldn't override policy myself, but I'd be more than willing to pretty much pass the buck if they were that determined to get their way. Better to bend and let them pass me by than to be brittle and let them break me.

It was a very Taoist way of looking at it, I suppose.

Am I the only one that wouldn't trade my old systems for a current gen one?
Now that you mention it, I do like some of the old games I have much better than the new ones coming out.

I was rocking some Super Metroid on the SNES the other night. 15 years old and that game is still awesome.

I am thinking about getting a new gaming system. Would you folks suggest a Wii, a PS3, or an XBOX 360? I figure I can get any one of them in return for this cool digital kitchen time I have. I mean, it's what I as a customer really WANT!

Now, as for the regional manager, I can help you deal with this slug trail of a boss. All I'll need is a soundproofed room with a locking door, some duct tape, my trusty Louisville Sluggers, a bag of fresh lemons, a paring knife, a stereo with a CD player, some AC/DC CD's, some Guns n' Roses CD's, a CD with the song "Stuck in the Middle with You," a bacon cheeseburger, and a Fanta orange soda.

          And NO questions!
          Ppfffft.

Gimme a cat, a couple gallons of water, and some rope.

Okay probably some milk and/or cheezeburgers for the poor cat.

I am a fan of having both, which is why the Wii's Virtual Console excites me. All kinds of old games and the guarantee that they will work. That might prompt me to sell my Nintendo collection. I can't sell the SNES though, I still need my Earthbound fix.
