I look as English as can be; however, my family on my father's side originates from Polish Jews. My dad once had some idiot say to him, "Really? You don't look Jewish." What does a Jew look like, may I ask?

AFAIK, there is a strong correlation between someone being Jewish (as a religion) and semetic (as an ethnic background). Note that "semetic" also includes arabs (the majority of whom are not Jewish), and people of non-semetic ancestry may have converted to Judaism, so it's not 100%.

The only way that someone would look Jewish (again, not 100%, since it would also catch Moslems, and North Americans born between roughly the 1930s and 1980s) is if they're a man, and they're at a nude beach.
