Quoth AFpheonix View PostI know, that's why I qualified that as applying to my state. I was just making fun of Rahmota and Trunks for ripping on Argabarga for not really going all that slow, especially not by Oregon standards. I also know that Argabarga isn't in OR, but I surmised that his state's posted speeds were around the 65 zone.Aerodynamics are for people who can't build engines. --Enzo Ferrari

Quoth Crosshair View PostWell, in North Dakota on the highways it is 70 MPH and the interstates are 75 MPH. If you are going slower than 70 MPH you need to be in the right lane. If the traffic is heavy (not very often) you better be going with the flow or taking the side roads. Most people do 75-80'ish. That is just how it is where I live.
When I was driving on the I-4 in Orlando no one was going the speed limit except me. And I was being passed on all sides so I speed up and that is the first time I've ever gone 80-85mph on an interstate.Figers are vicious I tell ya. They crawl up your leg and steal your belly button lint.
I'm a case study.

Quoth protege View Post...and some of our roads are so bad, that even 65mph is an adventure
Remember, when driving in PA, watch out for the pieces of interstate which are scattered throughout our pothole system.Sometimes life is altered.

Many of the lesser-traveled roads in SW PA are in pretty good shape--Route 19, 18, 221, etc....mainly because most traffic (and attempts at "repairing" things) go to the main roads--Route 51, I79, I70, the turnpike, etc.
Usually, I can make pretty good time on Routes 18 and 19 south of Pittsburgh. There's literally no traffic on both those roads. However, they can get pretty bad during winter--both are twisty and sometimes aren't plowed/salted very well.Aerodynamics are for people who can't build engines. --Enzo Ferrari

I got gas the other day. Told the attendant to fill it up. It stopped at $22.90. Instead of adding a lil bit to $23.00, he just takes it out, takes my $23.00, and goes to the next guy without giving me my dime. So not cool. Not like a dime is a huge matter but come on. Don't screw me over.
I'm only paying $2.19 a gallon here in NJ. Not too bad. Back in PA is was higher. I always wait till I get back in NJ to fill up my gas. Save myself 15 cents a gallon."I've found that when you want to know the truth about someone, that someone is probably the last person you should ask." - House

Yea, PA gas prices suck! The prices in NJ went down to 1.99 for a little while, now they are back up to 2.23-ish. So sucks...
I am not posting to rip on anyone who follows the posted limit, but I have to agree, living in NJ, the lead-foot state- if you are doing 65, and everyone else is going 75-80, legal speed or not, you are causing a hazard. I have seen crazy crap happen because someone was not following the flow of traffic- people weave to get around the one guy going 65- or everyone in the lane has to slam on breaks for that one person. It's fine if you're sticking in the right lane, but for the love of god- people who do 65 or less in the middle or left lanes are trying to get everyone killed. When it comes to driving around here- it's not always the posted limit you have to go with. (this also applies if traffic flow is going slower than the posted speed- but that's rare around here) And trust me, the troopers don't bother you unless you are weaving like a moron or seriously speeding ahead of the traffic flow.I will not shove “it” up my backside. I do not know what “it” is, but in my many years on this earth I have figured out that that particular port hole is best reserved for emergency exit only. -GK
