I was just reminded of a story from a former coworker. He has a disability, something displaysia, and his ankles turn in and he walks differently. But I've seen him walk very fast, and he does stage performances. Very friendly, outgoing guy. Great person. So one day he was taking a customer to something she wanted and she told him, "You need to learn to walk better." Um, seriously?? He does very well; he was hired as a salesfloor person, you know, doing some ofthe same kind of stuff Irv does. WTH?
ETA: I ran into said CW right after I posted this and he reminnded me that she had other remarks, such as advice he should try skating to correct the problem.
