I had thought that there was a requirement that every show have at least one Canadiana question.
As far as I know? No. The categories are usually pulled from the strengths of the contestants, so that they all have a category they have a shot in. That means it's nearly impossible to guarantee that it's even possible to mention Canada. I also know when I used to watch Jeopardy, they almost never mentioned Canada, though it was a long time ago (summer vacation during Junior High)

To quote the guy from my new favorite pod cast:

      "Oh, shit, it's on."
Yes I know I'm doomed. Thankfully I'm a whole state away, so I might be ok.....I love you EQ!

Bingo. I got mixed up with the titles because I thought Just the Five of Us from GTA was the title of My Five Uncles from San Andreas.

            So here's the whole cookie.

We have figured out that there is a clue writer on there that's from New Mexico given how much we wind up be answers and questions....so at least they know we're a state.

                SC: “THE CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!!”

I’m sure there’s some extraordinary set of circumstances that gives that proclamation some sort of context that would actually make sense.

Yeah, I saw that, too. Started giggling when I heard the clue.

I think it has to do with the fact that a lot of us have never heard of the place outside of this website. And then you factor in GK's stories. It just makes it amusing that it's the question to an answer on "Jeopardy".
I had never heard of it before GK's posts... but now it randomly shows up just to make my head explode. In a post-apocalyptic novel, on a canadian travel show (look.... snow... and polar bears) and other strange random places.

                  Hummmm... honest question.

Was Nunavut created as one big April Fool's Joke???

                  Wikipedia says:

"On April 1, 1999 The Canadian Northwest Territories was split, and the territory now known as Nunavut came to be."

                  This just seems very appropriate....
