I saw that segment...it kind of hit me in the middle of it that it might not have been a nighttime segment, they were probably doing all that in the middle of the afternoon and it was pitch black outside this time of year...It's little things that make the difference between 'enjoyable', 'tolerable', and 'gimme a spoon, I'm digging an escape tunnel'.Comment

It's primary inhabitants are the Inuit, who formed the Inuit Tapirisat of Canada in 1971. It was created as "voice of the north" to press for land settlement. They successfully achieved a self-governing territory, Nunavut, which was created in 1991. The settlement involved a payment of $500 million (which apparently is their budget for pink camo and fabulous clothing articles they purchase from our friend, Gravekeeper) and 350,000 square kilometers of land in the Canadian Artic.
This land makes up 1/5 of Canada. The population is 29,000 (20,000 Inuit) Transporation - no roads connect to Nunavut. You fly from Edmonton connect via First Air, Canadian North, Air Inuit, or Calm Air to Yellowknife, where charters are available to Nunavut.
