A vacuum cleaner, returned because its belt broke. Evidently it never occurred to to the former owner to buy and install a replacement belt, which can be easily obtained.

But if the customer had their receipt, we couldn't do anything about it.

We ended up sending it back defective.
She could have taken the loss and sold it at a yard sale, which is how we got the current vacuum cleaner we have.

Discovered it at a yard sale - lady was asking $15.00 for it. Looked like it was brand new, but Mom and I figured something was up with it.

But we bought it anyways and brought it home . . . plugged it up and it ran, but couldn't suck.

Upon my taking the hose out of the bottom and running a bent clotheshanger inside (after unplugging it of course) I discovered the problem.

Moron had stopped it up something awful with lint/debris . . . I spent five minutes unclogging it, pulled the cup off and washed the inside filter (which is basically a sponge) dried it with the hair dryer, reassembled it and voila . . . brand new vacuum cleaner that SUCKS.

Sometimes one person's stupidity is another's win.

But I mean come on, did he never watch the Animated Series? Or hell what about the two Tim Burton movies.
Believe it or not, there are those people who grew up with the 50's-late 60's Batman comics and watched the Adam West Batman TV show and never knew any other form of Batmannery.

When Tim Burton's movie exploded unto the screen it really shocked a whole bunch of people. So much so, in fact, that there must have been a tidal wave of complaints, for the next movie had its darkness toned down (inasmuch as darkness can be toned down) and the main review during the TV ads said "FUNNY!"
Why do they make Superglue but not Batglue?

Ah yes the silver age Batman.......Thanks I thought I erased all memory of the Silver Age. Thanks a lot.

And if I remember correctly (been a while since I watched the movies) the second movie was darker than Batman. It was after the second one that the studios kicked out Burton and brought in Joel and gave us Forever and Batman and Robin. *shudders*

Damn those people that want the campy version of Batman. Thank goodness we have Begins and The Dark Night now, and thankfully both were successful and we won't be going back to "FUNNY!" Batman anytime soon.......I hope.

The second was much darker, but the first was deadlier. Joker's toxic gas balloons killed hundreds of people. Penguin merely kidnapped the firstborn sons of Gotham.

And garage sales can give you real gold if you know what you're looking for.
Customers should always be served . . . to the nearest great white.

Ok really. Yeah that movie is kinda dark, but it's not THAT bloody. But I mean come on, did he never watch the Animated Series? Or hell what about the two Tim Burton movies. Has he been that aware of what to expect in a Batman movie not done by Adam West, or Joel Schumacher?
Apparently not - imagine if he bought Batman: Gotham Knight today...then he would have something to complain about

Aah yes. I got a perfectly good cast iron skillet at Value Village. It had a big patch of rust on the cooking surface, but I took it home and scrubbed it with steel wool, and it was perfect. I've probably had it for six years. There's nothing like cast iron to fry an egg. I really hope the person who took it there didn't get rid of it because of the rust.

Have you noticed that whenever a new actor takes over the role, in their first movie they always, always, at some point utter the line, "I'm Batman"?

Oh, come on, if you're looking for something hilarious to watch, that's your show. They knew exactly how cheesy and campy they were being.

And yes, I expected "Batman" (the Michael Keaton version) not be anything like the 60's show. I liked Michael Keaton as Batman mainly because between that and "Clean and Sober" it proved that he can act.

"Batman Begins" was good but I loved "Dark Knight". Heath Ledger was brilliant.

I loved the 60s Batman TV show and wish they would release the series on DVD. I also liked all the movies since them. But nobody has mentioned the first two Batman movies, serials in the 40s. Those were also enjoyable, even if Batman got beat up in every episode exceot the last ones.

                  Batman (1943)

                  Batman and Robin (1949)

That's because we're all trying to forget them.

Um... I kind of do, because if they didn't, then that means there's something about that frying pan you haven't discovered
