I had a bank customer put his deposit in a drive up with no tube. He put the deposit where the tube would have sat, pushed the button and waited. Now this was an underground tube system, so the deposit disappeared and he waited. Then he calls angry the next day that the teller never said anything to him, and never sent his receipt out, now it's not showing up in his account .. .
After hearing this odd story of terrible service - it took a while but we found out he sent his deposit at the old bank we moved out of months before. the bank with no signs, no people, no other cars, (but yes the power was on to the building).
So at the time, we still actually owned the building and had keys so someone did go back over there and tried running the tubes, but the checks never popped up - until about a year later the new owners called us up with this weird story about how all of the sudden they had sent a tube out and 2 checks and a deposit slip popped out . . .problem solved, but by then of course the checks were re-issued and the customer had actually since passed away.
