Well the smaller bottle is easier to carry. It might be cheaper to buy a 2 litre bottle, but it is hard to drink it while walking down the street. It's really like asking why someone would eat at a restraunt when they could cook the same meal for much less at home. The small bottle and the 2 litre are actually two different products (single serve, drink now and bulk, take home and drink) Which is why alot of people buy both a single serve and a cheaper 2-litre at the same time, funny though
    I Agree with this.

Only I've seen some pretty weird things lately, like people buying sundries (stuff like oh I dunno paper towels, foil, frozen dinners at a convenience store at 11 PM (stores local to my little 8-12 are open that late)

    price comparioson

assume that we're about a mile from any store (about 50 cents more gasp)

    soooo

Dinner you can get a store about 2.49... when not on sale for significantly less (sometimes up to $1.49 and only seems to not be on sale about 3 weeks a year)
the 9-13 about 30-90 cents more, all year round.

even beter is Ice Cream... yeah I realize the bars are going to be cheaper, but I'm talking full on ben and jerry's and dryer's at about a dollar over what the stores sell it for.

Of course I tend to notice that the people buying foil tend to not be the type that are thinking clearly and have pupils the size of pinpricks... wonder what they're using it for, and why they aren't going to a store... hint I used to have some friends that were tweakers, and had a lot of foil for... using.

I for one buy 20 oz. sodas instead of 2-liters because they taste different. People may think I am crazy, but it is true. I actually prefer the cans, which is good, because they usually have 24 packs for like $5-$7 where I live. I don't know if y'all have noticed, but if you drink Dr Pepper, you may know what I mean.

It only takes practice with 2 liters. They really are a better bargain. They used to be cheaper (now they're the same price,) you don't 'lose' your refill if you have to leave for the bathroom or whatnot, you just run out drink when you're done, and they've got a cap so you can seal them up and finish them later.

But then, I buy 4 2 liters per day on average. Don't believe me? I'll mail you some of my receipts. Diet Coke, Diet Pepsi, & Diet Dr. Pepper. What can I say? I'm diabetic, so I need the caffeine to fight the exhaustion, the liquid to fight the chronic thirst, they're sugar-free so they don't screw up my blood sugars, and I already have to go to the bathroom all the time? What's one more trip because I overdrink?

And I've noticed that the tiny little metal cans do taste different. They're something wrong with them, like you're drinking metal. I don't care for it.

When it comes to pop, I drink either Fanta (all flavours), or root beer. Doesn't matter what brand of root beer, I can only drink it from plastic or glass bottles. The cans make it taste absolutely foul. Fanta, on the other hand, I prefer in the cans, not sure why.

Same with beer. There's a NOTICEABLE difference between bottles and cans. I'll drink out of cans if there's no other choice, but if I can get bottles I'll always get bottles. Besides, they stay cold a bit longer in the summer.

Now I prefer my coke from a can.

The McNuggets thing happens at the corner McDonald's as well. Four pieces are a buck, but it's always cheaper to stack 4 piece boxes than buy any composite. A 6-piece is $2.09. A 10-piece is $3.29. A 20-piece is $5.69. Meanwhile, you could get eight for $2, 12 for $3, and 20 for $5.

As a completely off-topic thing, a McDonald's on the beach offered a 60-piece...I have no idea what it cost, but I'll regret for life not buying one when it was on offer.

That dollar menu of theirs really screws up their combo prices, especially since drink refills are free. Switch fries and a drink for small sizes and suddenly $5 combos are $3 - and you can buy two more sandwiches. I can't imagine they're clearing much overhead that way.

Reminds me of Mondays where I work, you can get a medium one topping pizza for 4.99 as many as you want we don't hide this special we advertise it really well on the phone, radio, etc. But we still have people call in on that day and order the deal where they have to get at least 3 medium one toppings for 5.55 a piece. You just can't explain to people some days that its better for them.

Plain macaroni at my local megastore: 1kg for €0.89, or 400g for €0.19. That's not a typo.

The 400g size is the more convenent too, since I can just tip the whole packet into the saucepan instead of trying to measure it.

You might want to reconsider that. Caffeine can mess up the way your body processes insulin, causing your blood sugar to be higher.

Ugh I feel you. Our customers have to earn at least $15k a year to get a phone contract, so I have the same conversation over and over:
                        SC: I earn $14999.
Me: Are you sure that's all? You don't get any extra for overtime or anything?
SC: no, I earn exactly $14999.
                        Me: but are you SURE?

                          Helpful Police

Many moons ago (I was young, dinosaurs roamed the earth and beer was tuppence a pint) I was driving on a motorway, heading home after a long week.

                          And was knackered.

REALLY knackered, long blinks, couldn't keep my head up tired, to the extent that I realised I was unlikely to make it to the first service station.

So I pulled over onto the hard shoulder, closed my eyes.

Was woken by a tapping on the window *Bugger, a Policeman*
                          PM=Police Man
Me=He's handsome, he's debonair, he's fun to be with... You guessed it.

                          PM "Are you alright Sir"
Me "Yes, fine - I was just so tired I thought I'd better pull over before I had
                          an accident"
PM "Ah, so you were feeling ill Sir"
                          Me *huh?*
Me "No... I'm fine - I was just so knackered I had to stop for a minute"
PM "Oh no Sir, I don't think so - if you pulled over to sleep, that would be an
offence and I would have to take action - Whereas pulling over because you
feel ill is the correct thing to do"
                          Me "Ah."
PM "So you were feeling ill"
                          Me "Um... Yes?"
PM "Do you feel better now?"
                          Me "Yes, pretty much"
PM "OK, you're about 5 miles away from a Service Station and you can kip there
for a couple of hours without annoying anyone"
                          Me "OK, thanks"
                          PM "Take care now"

                          And off he bimbled.

                          Still makes me smile.
