This is one of my pet peeves. It's one thing if they complain and still buy it. It's another if they come to the register, I scan the price, and they say it's "too expensive, I don't want it". Yesterday, I had to cancel three transactions in a row. 
Sometimes, customers move regular or 25% clothes to the clearance rack. Then another customer sees it, gets it and is mad because it's not 75% off like they thought. Worse I had a customer complain about how expensive a skirt was when it was actually 75% and on the clearance rack. Simple math would prove something with an original price of $89 is going to be at least $20, right? Guess that's beyond a few customers.
