actually liillfilly the army does use paintballs just not paintball guns what the use is a special round called simunitions its essentially a paintball attached to a bullet cartridge instead of a brass jacketed bullet. they just change the barrels out in their guns and just use it to shoot.
Ah. I assume for practice? Nuts; in the AF we never got to use paintballs!
What I meant was, she's throwing such a fit over 18 Yo using paintball gear, but not over 17-18YO who join the military and learn to use real guns. But I shall end at that, because I don't know what her opinion might have been on that (but I can imagine!) and I don't want to fratch.
For some reason now I'm thinking of peanut butter-filled paintballs. If you shot someone who was deathly allergic, would that be assault with a deadly weapon I wonder?

Only if you had some way of knowing, prior to firing the shot, that the person might have the allergy. And I there are generally other laws that would cover hitting people with peanut butter while hoping to get someone who was allergic.
