HealthNet Medicare Part D just went through and reconciled all their records last month. Unfortunately, that put a little glitch in the system that made it so that a few of my customers with that plan are getting their claims denied because the system thinks they have other coverage.
The last lady like that today went away after I told her to call customer care, only to call me back to say that the rep said it was a problem on OUR end. Ya, thanks you lazy rep.
I called the pharmacy line, they verified that there was a rejection going on on their end, gave me customer care, and they told me about the glitch. Unfortunately, it needs an override from yet another department that's already closed for the holiday.

Le sigh.....I went ahead and cashed it out and modified the price to what her copay had been last month, and I guess I'll get that override on Tues when they're back in....
Hopefully they'll have a patch in before too long though.

At my store, Marlbs are $3.95 plus tax, for a grand total of $4.17 a pack. Newports are $4.60 for a total of $4.86.

I heard a rumor that prices were actually going UP 17 cents a pack starting today, but I won't find out for certain until Monday.
I don't know the price of Marlboros, as it's been many years since I smoked them, but I do know that Texas did pass a new $1 per pack tax as of Jan 1.

Somehow, I think that may be the impetus I need to get me to quit smoking, even the "cheap" stuff.
Everything will be ok in the end. If it's not ok, it's not the end.

Interestingly enough, although our store has a reputation of higher prices than our competitor, after doing a competitive shop I discovered that a lot of our prices are actually *lower* than our primary competitor!

There's some talk about a $1 tax per pack thing here, but since I don't smoke, I don't care.
          I'm bringing disdain back...with a vengeance.

Oh, and your tool box called...you got out again.

Maybe the lady had called about a used game (which is usually a fair deal cheaper) and thought that she could get a new game at that price? I see a lot of those when I go to my favorite video game stores.

Human: "Why is THIS copy $50 and THAT copy is $30??"
Worker: "That copy is used. This one is brand-new."
Human: "I want the new one for that price!"
Me: *starts looking for blunt instrument*

Cheap people suck. One of my "favorite" newspaper route customers was like that. This guy literally screamed at me when the paper went up from a quarter a day to 30 cents. Keep in mind that I barely made $20 a week (in the early 1990s) and had to use a knackered Radio-Flyer to deliver things. Couldn't complain too much about the wage, since I was only 15 and still in high school. The R-F was painted about 20 different colors and held together with duct tape and bailing wire. As for the customer, he had a freaking *Maserati* in his driveway...and was bitching about an extra nickel. Give me a freaking break!

What's wrong with wearing stuff from Goodwill? Some of my best clothing and furnishings came from there.
Mine too. Like the pair of Timberland boots I picked up for $4 there, nearly new, and still have three years later (a good tack shop with good leather cleaner is a godsend.) I don't want to hate on Goodwill or Salvation Army or any others, but it'd be nice if I could swing a pair of Red Wings ($120 and up) or a Barbour jacket ($exorbitant but worth it, presumably.)

Have you played the new yoshi? I would have paid 49.99 easy. She must not love her child/grandchild. Hey, ... it's better than buying crack.

Customer asks how much our Marlboros are, and I say "$3.68 a pack after tax."
Customer says "You say that like it's cheap
I'd like to see their faces if they had to buy a pack here (Ireland). They cost £5.05 per pack of twenty which is roughly....um..... I suppose about $9 ish maybe a little less.....they'd know what was sticking to them then!
