I've only ever had one thing taken from a room.

I had bought my then-hubbie a plant for Valentine's day, and he left it in the room when we checked out. Whoever cleaned the room took the plant and when I went to the desk to ask about it, nobody would fess up to having it. I was notably pissed at the time, but didn't file a complaint. I should have, though.
