(I myself believed this myth, and was typing this post to say that....and when I went to get the date of the story, found out I was once again an idiot.)

Nope. The fact that you looked it up, found your mistake, and put the correct info makes you decidedly not an idiot, merely misinformed.

There are some schools of thought that are coming around to the fact that the type of sunscreen found in the US (I'm not sure what is in use in Australia) actually fails to block any of the types of sun's rays that lead to the development of skin cancer and all they really do is deprive the wearer of a healthy dose of sunlight that is required for proper vitamin D production.

There is a type of sunscreen in use in Europe that blocks these other rays, but it isn't legal for sale in the US at this point.

I have no idea where truth & reality lie, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least were this to be the case.

True that....but that being said, there are many people with common names with common spellings that still spend their lives telling people how to spell their names.

My name has fallen out of favor these days, but it's still an easy name to spell, but everybody wants to spell it the other way.

i like my name the way it is but i think the only bad thing was that i couldn't get a preprinted mug (or anything) with my name on it.

My name has a traditional spelling and I still have only ever seen it on something pre-printed when I went to Hawaii.
