*raises hand* I've done it too.

My mom and I returned and the re-repurchased a collectible Barbie Doll years ago. We saved about $20.

However, we even asked the store if that was okay and didn't give an attitude about it.

Do we really want to know what the dor mouse said?

Also, his actions may not have been SC-ish, but his attitude certainly was.

I have no problem with something like this. Yes, it is sneaky, but the consumer's goal is to save money. A while back I bought "I Love Lucy" seasons five and six on DVD at Best Buy, and the Sunday afterward, I saw it advertised where if you bought them together, you saved $20. I took them right back and got a refund (they were unopened, by the way), then purchased them again.

I do admit the customer's snotty shitty attitude is irritating. In my case, I did not go up to the clerk and demand a partial refund, but be allowed to keep the DVD's. I did it without her knowing it and without her feeling like she has the proverbial egg on her face.

I think that is very SCish, because the customer seemed like he knew the rules, and was trying to drive the clerk crazy and find a loophole, and was smug about it.

I deal with these sort of people all day, every day that I work. It's highly annoying, since the whole time they are doing this, they treat you like you're stupid.

I will usually try and help a customer if they are being really nice about it, but if they are being a pain in the hiney about it, you can bet I am going to look for whatever manager I can find that will say no to the customer.

                Attitude is everything.
Now the trouble about trying to make yourself stupider than you really are is that you very often succeed.

I wonder why people call it a "sh*t-eating grin." If I were eating sh*t I certainly wouldn't be grinning.
Perhaps, because, if they are enough of an ass to pull some lame stunt such as that, that in their feeble mind warrants said sh*t eating grin, they are also stoopid enough to actually eat sh*t?

Agreed. Admittidly, my family and I have done this ,but we were nice about it, so the employees hardly minded.
