3 years old and had diabetes already? Good grief! What was she feeding the dog? Wait, what was she feeding her family?

Animals aren't expendable, and if people think that way, then they shouldn't be allowed pets. Most of my family and in-laws thought that my husband and I were crazy for spending about $800 on our eldest daughter's cat after Miss Kitty was hit by a car. We had the savings, and despite us not being 'cat people' our 3 year old daughter is and loves Miss Kitty with all of her heart. (Miss Kitty is fine, but is now living with one of our animal-loving family members as she can't cope with the dogs anymore.)

I'm crying right now, I'm so disgusted.

I will never understand scum like that. I would never turn my back on my family, furry or otherwise.

These people are total scum of the Earth. Totally sick, and no excuse for it. I truly wish them the worst in life, because they've earned it.

That was horrible. I hate dogs, being a strict cat person, but I voluntarily took in my brother's sickly, seizer-ridden dog to save him from being taken to be put to sleep. He was with me to the day he died, though my cat was not exactly thrilled with the concept. But . . . those people are horrible, and I would never do that to a dog, even though I hate them! Animals aren't mere possessions! Such needless death. What a shame.

Nothing surprises me in veterinary hospitals anymore. I hate people like that.

About two or three months ago we had two clients come into my work with a day old kitten that need sutures. We told them how to clean the spot up and how to medicate it. They put the kitten back with his mother right after they got him home the first night after being advised not to. The reason for this was because we were afraid mama cat would try to clean up the suture site excessively until the stitches popped out. Well it happened...they had to come back in the next day for a resuture. A week later they came in to euthanize the kitten. The suture site was obviously not taken care of and was badly infected to the point where we couldn't do anything. The cut was pretty disgusting to look at.

Sorry to thread hijack. Your story reminded me of this incident. Xx

I'm a cat person, but I still got the urge to find these fucking people, grab my machete (spelling?) and cut their legs off. But instead of putting them to sleep, I'd leave them to bleed to death. Sorry, but it really pisses me off when people abuse or neglect animals and/or children. Grrrr.

Ok, time for some hot tea now.

(The above was from my beloved Riley)

I hate people who refuse to care for their animals. When Riley has the eye problem, we went through many meds and appointments to find out what it was, including a drive to specialist in the next state over. Turned out he has feline herpes, and he had to get the eye out.

Then the fuzzy lil (censored) ate string and had a surgery and a weeklong hospital stay to make sure he was okay (he is still having complications from that surgery). I paid every cent to make him well (I did threaten him with the "big needle," but it was in jest)

Big hugs to all the vet techs out there who have to deal with heartless owners.

I could never work as a vet, or with a vet.

The first time one of this type of person came in, and I'd be up on assault charges, at the very least.
