SC: But, but...How am I supposed to find it if you don't even put up a SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGN?!

Guess I'm in the minority with Gaga. After hearing her a cappella a few times, I think she's got a great voice.
She's got a good voice, she can dance (not sure if she does her own choreography), and her songs are decidedly catchy. Her fashion sense is completely whack, and her lyrics make almost no sense, and everything she does in her videos is over-sexualized.
Either way, I wouldn't turn her stuff off if it came on, but I wouldn't seek it out, either.
from the only other person who seemed to like District 9.
I liked it and it was good, but there's no way a movie like that would ever get the award unless the competition was particularly lacking, which it wasn't.

I do not question why a grown man would look for a Lady Gaga CD.
There is nothing wrong with a grown man buying varied music. I have raised a few eyebrows myself. Hell, my teenage niece was shocked to find out I actively like Avril Lavigne's music. I'm 39. I see no issue with this.
Also had someone asking if we sold music....while facing the music section that had a big-ass sign that said "Music" over it.
At my last job, I had a similar recurring experience. At that place, the bar was long and straight, with all of the booze displayed on the back wall behind the bartender. So you walk up to the bar, and you are literally looking at over 200 bottles of booze stretching from one end to the other, and up on to shelves. You know....like a bar.
I cannot count how many times someone would come in, look at me while I stood in front of this mountain of liquor, and asked, "Do you serve drinks?"
Or the ones that just walk in the door and ask without even trying to find it themselves.
I have done this myself, but usually only when the store is really big, I am in a hurry, and I know ahead of time that there is no way in the world I would find this item on my own.
In other words, pretty much every time I walk into Home Depot and need something besides a key.

Fashion - I just see as the same as designers couture shows. Just for the effect.
Lyrics - I spent many, many years trying to figure out what the hell Simon Le Bon was saying and I still don't know what they mean.
Wise on a birthday party, in a world -
Full of surprising fireworks and sudden silence. (shh)
Lies on a stranger's bed the new day breaks, like a speeding train
Or an old friend ever expected, but never knocking..
Holding your own in a battered car,
All night parties cocktail bars -
And smile when the butterfly escapes the killing jar
Videos - She doesn't do more than others I've seen. "Girls on Film" was banned by the BBC and heavily edited for MTV.

Maybe paint it blue?

Gets people talking about her and indirectly increases sales of her work. I think it does its real job.
Actually, she has delusions of being a fashion designer and icon. It's not just to be noticed.
The worst part is that some of what she's come up with have been picked up by the more impressionable among the populace. >.<

1. I do not question why a grown man would look for a Lady Gaga CD ( see a theme starting to develop?). Perhaps he's buying for a relative. Or maybe he's developed an unhealthy obsession with the artist (closet shrine and all). Either way, he should be old enough to know that there is such a thing as alphabetical order
Speaking of aging like our parents, I was feeling kind of old last night. Around midnightish, heard a raging party thumping through our walls, and I poked my head out the apartment door, not to see where the party was so I could go join it, but to see who was making such a fucking racket.
This was midnight on a Saturday night. A party night. And I was home watching tv while other people partied. And I was annoyed by the party.
Luckily for me, I know it was a one night thing, and that normally, I would have been at that party tearing it up and hitting on women who are, to borrow a line from John Cleese, "age-inappropriate."
