Medieval Fair Suck.

OK, this one's from one of the other members of the guard, who did photos for when our group was out on the arena. Best way I can phrase this is with an open letter. (Background: this was at a Medieval fair I just got home from, with the New Varangian Guard)

dear cranky old buzzard,

I am aware that you wanted to see what was going on. However, our photographer was also wandering around taking photos of the event, not only for publicity purposes, but also to allow our combatants to see where their weaknesses were.
Therefore, telling her to get OUT of the outer ring of the combat arena, even though she was wearing period clothing AND had her pass on her (safety rule that was dictated to us when we received those passes was that they are to be carried on your person at ALL times), basically means that you are nothing more than a sucky old geezer. She was running around, she was not standing in one area.

Yeah, as a result, we've now had to dictate a new rule that if you are doing photos, you walk in and are introduced by your character name before you duck out of the arena. (we introduce our combatants anyway)

QFT. Whether it's by being a bad-tempered loudmouth like the jerk in the OP or by doing something mind-numbingly stupid causing injury or worse (something that a normal person wouldn't even think of doing), these morons screw up everything and spoil the fun.

Another one I found more hilarious really, was when I was ducking around to go to the loo at the fair (those in the medieval village did not have separate toilets allocated to them...it was quite a sight seeing me running across the lawn in leather shoes and a very long dress), I passed one of the food stands. At this particular time, the lines were huge.
Cue another cranky old buzzard grumbling "this is ridiculous."
I just carried on a very LOUD convo with my boyfriend (also in period costume) about how if you want 30-second coffee, go to Mcdonalds...this is a FAIR. They cannot magically bring staff out from nowhere and they only have so much space to work with.

this particular stand looked nothing like a medieval food stand.

Basically, the way the fair was set out was that most of the merchants and the food stands were grouped near the entrance. Then once you hit the combat arena it was split into three "wings".

Wing 1 had the secondary stage, the jousting arena and the stands for Days of Knights (the jousting group)
Wing 2 had the Medieval Village and was divided into two "sub wings". The wing on the left had the Border Celts, Blue Company and I think one another group. The other sub wing consisted of just NVG and another couple of stands. We were given quite a huge area.
wing 3 had all the Middle Eastern stuff, dancing, singing etc.
