Food Stamp Abuser

Yesterday, there was a customer who bought several of the same item and used her food stamps. She divided them into 3 separate food stamps orders and made a fuss when she was caught and even said that she paid. My service desk coworker believed that she was buying several of the same item for business purposes which is against foodstamp policy. She left a note attached to the receipt copies that I retrieved from the computer.

People never stop amazing me. The poor people who NEED those stamps, and here it looks like someone was trying to abuse the system for helping less fortunate.

back in my cashier days, people would come through different lines and buy an item for a quarter so they would get the change. Most of them would go through different lines, a couple were just blatant about it. "No, I'm buying three separate items". God, I so wanted to report them...but I didn't want to lose my job over their welfare fraud.

We always get people in trying to use food stamps for things they shouldn't be. We don't take them anyways, but people will always ask if they can get cigarettes or beer with them, as if they want us to do a 'side deal' with them.
