It's possible that he has an invisible disability, and is in denial about it.

Now, having the disability is one thing - and as almost everyone has said, a polite request to have the kitchen or the wait staff cut a steak is no problem. (Ideally, without having to admit to disability - just being polite.)

But some people who are in denial about their disability can be very angry, rude, even aggressive about it. And no, the general public shouldn't have to suffer that anger and rudeness. But it could well explain what happened.

If it is that, I hope the guy gets the help he needs - both with his disability and with his reaction to it. And that he damn well tips wait staff well until he gets over it.
    Seshat's self-help guide:
    1. Would you rather be right, or get the result you want?
    2. If you're consistently getting results you don't want, change what you do.
    3. Deal with the situation you have now, however it occurred.
    4. Accept the consequences of your decisions.

i would have asked him if he wanted me to feed him like a baby bird and chew it for him too, to save the wear and tear on his teeth.

why can't we just smack the stupid out of some people?
As Ron White says "You can't fix stupid."

I know in some situations some adults still have to have their food cut up for them. My brother is one of those, but then with his disabilities, he's not very good at using a knife.

      At least I don't have to chew for him . . .
