it would make me cringe whenever i would see a couple of people start pulling tables together. it never turns out good, they all want separate orders, never tip and always leave a gigantic mess to clean up after.
Situations like this are why many restaurants now automatically tack on a gratuity of anywhere from 15%-20% for parties over a certain number (usually 6 or 8). My bar does 18% on groups over 6. "But we are doing separate checks." Great. You're still a party of 6+, so we are adding 18% to each separate check. Thank you, drive safely, good night!

Yes, I love my bar. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. And any restaurant/bar management that puts up with the shit described above and does not have the decency to put on a gratuity so their servers actually can make money off such groups should be flayed naked with barbed blackjacks while lemon juice drips on them, and they are lowered into a vat of salt.

Hey, if it can produce the Ferrari, a driveway to park it in is small potatoes.
    Touche, my friend. Touche.

A store worker came over to me and accused me of theft.
Back when I was a teenage thief, I was casing this one store for sunglasses. I found the ones I wanted, but as I was about to snake them, I noticed a guy who was very obviously security for the store. So I put the shades back, and calmly walked out the store. At which point the security guy pounced, accusing me of theft. "What did I steal?" Sunglasses, he thundered. "Really? What sunglasses?" I had none on me, and he had nothing.

Suggestion to stores: hire security that isn't so fucking obvious. If a 16-year-old can pick him out, anyone can.

This is Pizza Hutt we are taking about here. they will put up with any and all shit even today. They will NEVER auto-grat ANYONE no matter the size of the group or how bad they trash the dinging room, or how badly/rudely/obnoxiously they behave. gotta maintain that smooth spineless, brainless gutless, give em anything for free NO MATTER what corp image.

One of my very first jobs was as a waiter in a Pizza Hut when I was a 17-year-old senior in high school. Hell, that was my second waiter job ever. I think I may have gotten lucky, because I made good money there and don't remember too much suckiness, though I also can't remember if I ever got any large parties, and if I did, whether or not they auto-gratted.

I confess, my house is a mess. But I'm exhausted from work and I live on my own. Unless the resident Queen of the house (housecat) counts. But I'd never trash someone else's house. Not in a million years.

If they were really spineless, they'd have started delivering to our complex again when we whined at them over it.

if you have complained to the local franchise owner/corp office already, then go above their heads to PH corp. they LOVE to give free shit away (more so than the franchise). just go to PH web site and find the complaints button. I garanentee the local Area manager/franchise owner will hear about it if enough complaints are made

                Done, done, and done.

The manager passed us on to the DM, and the DM said no, so we went to corp and corp said it was up to the DM and washed their hands of it.

I can't blame them too much, really. A couple of years before we moved in, some thugs walked up to a delivery driver before the guy even had time to park, shot the dude, and took the pizzas.
