  • No Means No. (Long, slightly painful)

So "Billet" body wash is on sale this week at Aid of Rite. A customer (Indian from India, which is a little important) comes up to me and wants to do two seperate transactions. Ok. I scan his card and ring up the first body wash from "Mold Spice", which is the same price as the "Billet" body wash on sale. For the second body wash, he has a coupon, which is BOGO. Pretty good deal, yeah?

    "Is only one on shelf".

"Oh. Then I can't take this coupon."

"No, no, you must take it."

    "? I can't, I'm sorry."

"But girl over there said I can have something...uh...check?"

"Oh a raincheck? Yes, I can, be right back! *writes up rain check* Here you are, sir, that'll be $2.99, please!"

    "What is this?"

"This is your raincheck for the bodywash."

    "I have coupon."

"I can't take this coupon at the moment. You said there's only one left, yes?"

    "Yes."

"Then I need to have another bodywash to give you the coupon."

"But girl says I have check!"

"I understand, but I cannot give you this coupon."

"What if I buy bodywash now and come back for free one?"

"I can't do that. I need to have both bodywashes. Keep your coupon and come back on Friday when we might have more in."

"I want coupon. Girl says I can have check!"

"Which I gave you, which guarantees you'll have the bodywash for that price if we don't have it in on Friday."

"But girl says I have check! I want to buy this now and get free one when it's here! That's what girl says!"

"Oh, K, and S2, can you come here please?"

    "Yeah?"

"K, did you tell him he could have a free bodywash?"

"No, I told him he could have a raincheck."

    "What's up?"

"Ah, S2, I think I might need your help."

"I want to buy this bodywash now and have free bodywash when it comes in, that says on coupon."

"I can't do that, sir, it's the way the coupon works."

"Ok, thank you. *curses us out in Tamil? and walks off*"

    *sigh*

    That's just . . . terrible.
Customers should always be served . . . to the nearest great white.
