    thanks for the info on the pricing. In the computer it is known as yield pricing, but I had never heard of a hotel doing this before. We have been getting A LOT of cutomers now who call to check on rates and then call back to book and its a different rate. We then have to explain that its based on the number of rooms that or reserved/available. The guest will then get upset and not reserve. I've gotten to the point that I tell people when they call to check on rates that if they call back in 5 minutes that rate MIGHT change (especially with holiday weekends like 4th of July).

      The pricing system - I wish mine did that. When the revenue manager is off it'd save me having to call head office every two minutes. We work on that system, but we have to manually change rates.

      The house keeping complaint is beyond me, I mean 2 minutes 52 seconds Who times housekeeping?

      On the other hand, I understand the rooms not being back. We have that at my hotel. I've been there when we've called to ask why we have no clean rooms at 6pm and they've gone home. Thankfully the majority were serviced or I think the manager would have exploded.

        So, her daughter is late, she doesn't know where she is, yet she has a cell phone, has her daughter's number (And obviously knows how to use said phone, as she called the police) yet she not only turned the phone off, but didn't follow the obvious avenue of calling her daughter directly, or checking her messages/missed calls, and instead went straight to crying and screaming in a public place?

        I feel sorry of the daughter. Growing up with someone with such OBVIOUS attention issues can't have been easy. Munchausen-by-proxy much?

          ...I can't explain it, but I just felt Facebook's entire user list facepalm.

              the woman who was "missing" looked like she wanted to crawl in a hole. About 2 hours later she came to apologize for her mother's behavior.

              I had yesterday and today off so no new stories, but I have to be back to work tomorrow. I'm NOT looking forward to it. Kind of bad for being my 5th day of work huh?
