"I am a grown adult! How dare you hold me responsible for mistakes which I admit were my own fault! It is completely unacceptable that I should have to abide by the terms I agreed to of a contract I entered into voluntarily!"
Guest arrives at hotel.
Guest says he has a reservation; I can't find it.
Guest produces printed out email copy of confirmation.
Guest's reservation is valid, and was made more than 2 months ago.
Guest's reservation is for a different hotel, and it was for 2 days ago.
Guest proceeds to call expedia, and bitch for 71 minutes that he made mistakes on the date & location and failed to notice either during the intervening 2 months on both the expedia confirmation and the confirmation from the hotel he actually booked at, which is no where near this one, and has an unmistakably different name.
Would-be guest yells, screams, threatens, and demands that he not be charged as per the terms of the contract. Would-be guest's logic during this ranting high-volume diatribe hinges entirely on the assertion that since he admits he was at fault, he should not be held responsible.
After over an hour, expedia csr finally caves and tells would-be guest that while they won't reverse the charges that have already gone through, if he goes to the hotel he actually booked at, his reservation will be honored. Would-be guest grudgingly agrees, and finally gets the fuck out of my lobby.
