I really can't recommend going out with any form of pneumonia - the inability to take in oxygen correctly makes doing anything exhausting.
Seriously. When I was getting ready to go to the doctor (went to my parents' house first so my mom could drive me) I was panting like I just came in from running a mile - just sitting on the floor putting laundry in a bag. I drove to my parents' house and I shouldn't have even been doing that. (My mom drove me to the doctor from there and I stayed at their house for several days.) The last thing I would have been doing would be shopping for paper.

Also, lets all not forget the LOVELY managers out there we've all either encountered or read about....

You know, the ones who demand a person come in sick, thereby spreading their germs around, thereby causing a major epidemic in which the whole fucking company gets sick.

Basically she should have stayed home, yes.
But Pneumonia is not a contagious disease, it is not even a single disease.
Pneumonia basically means inflammation of the lungs, and it responds to dozens of different conditions and can even be caused by allergic reactions, and most cases of it are not contagious at all, and many of those that are already require a weakened state to thrive, as in you much already have a cold.
Not to mention many cases of pneumonia will not even make you sick, you lungs can get inflamed and you can just live with it and only cough a bit and it will go away.
To make it simple Pneumonia is to lungs what Tonsillitis is to Tonsils, it can mean almost everything.

I have COPD, and any time I get a cold, or exhaustion of a certain level it rolls into pneumonia.

I was given the vaccine to prevent infection by 23 types of bacteria that cause pneumonia-though I'll need a booster in 30 years....
Honestly.... the image of that in my head made me go "AWESOME!"..... and then I remembered I am terribly strange.-Red dazes
