The phone inside the Visitor parking booth rings. There is a black car at the exit gate. Here is what happened.
me: "Visitor parking booth. How may I help you?"
sucky female: "It is $5.00 to park here?" *she must have seen the sign stating $5.00 & where to park at which is posted at the exit gate*
me: "Yes"
sucky female: "Can you raise the gate for me" *not a question, a demand*
me: "You pay inside the building."
I hang up the phone. She does not back up.
The phone inside the booth rings again. I notice on the "display" it is the extension to campus police. The phone only rang once.
She is still waiting at the exit gate.
The phone rings again. It is her. Oh joy.
me: "Visitor parking booth. How may I help you?"
sucky female: "Yeah...can you let me out. I did not see the signs stating Visitor parking is $5.00" *not a question, a demand*
You can clearly see the 2 signs when you pull up to the booth window.
me: "no, I see the 2 signs. You will have to ask the parking office about that. They are on the 3rd floor *the sign right in front of you states this as well*. I cannot raise the gate"
I hang up the phone. She does not back up. She presses the call box again.
Campus police call me & ask me "why does she keep on pressing the call button?" When you press the call button, the call goes directly to dispatch. I tell them she will not pay for her parking. They tell me she has to pay for her parking.
She finally backs up.
A couple of minutes later "Nancy" from the parking office calls me & asks if she backed up. I told her she did. She then told me she cursed at campus police when they handled the call at the call box.
Then campus police call me again & ask if she backed up. I told them yes & that she told me she did not see the 2 signs stating Visitor parking is $5.00. They told me that they told her "you can easily see the 2 signs before you get to the entrance gate." That must have been when she cursed at them.
I did not see her exit. I do not know where she went to.
