This was a story told me by an awesome coworker F who has been there a really long time. They tried to make him a manager but he wanted to just stay part-time so now he's a Customer Service Specialist. Anyway, he said an older woman came in with her husband, who was struggling along with a walker. The woman kept telling him to "Hurry up. Hurry up." He said he was already ready to be done with her for that.
Anyway, she brought up a TV that was, of course, in the wrong spot on the shelf, above a price label that was $10 cheaper than the actual price of a TV. She starts yelling at F about how the label being wrong isn't her problem it's theirs. F gets our manager for her without even being asked, but sticks around to watch.
First her credit card wouldn't go through, then she couldn't find her checkbook and didn't have enough cash. So of course, she has to yell at F and the manager for this as well.
She ended up having to leave and come back to pay for it. When F saw her coming he passed her onto N, another awesome coworker. When N brought it out to her car, it wouldn't fit into her trunk, and she did NOT want it on the back seat. So again, she yells at N about this.
Apparently N eventually just said "So did you want me to leave it in the parking lot or take it back into the store." I guess she caved and let him put it in the back seat.
I can't express how sorry I feel for her husband and how much I respect his patience for having managed to stay married to her.
Oh, a bonus. Guy in a full gorilla suit with head part walking through the store.
