I have been selling random stuff on eBay, Amazon, and Craigslist for over a decade, and I have never had so annoying a buyer as this guy. I think he's trying to set me up to demand a refund while keeping the item, but you can be the judge.
Incompetent Douche (ID) buys an item from me and pays for priority shipping. No problem, I use the online USPS to pay for the shipping since it gives me delivery confirmation for free. The fact that I have delivery confirmation is important: ID doesn't know I'm tracking the package.
More than a week goes by and I get an email from ID demanding to know where the item is. He claims the post office in his city is holding the package and won't release it, making it sound like it's my fault for the delay. I look up the tracking number and check it online. Seems the post office tried to deliver it, wasn't able to, and left a notice for him to schedule redelivery. They even gave him three options: fill out the little stinking form and put it in his mailbox the next day; call the 1-800 number to reschedule the delivery; or go online to reschedule the delivery. I explained all this to him, gave him the tracking number and the post office's web site, and told him he needed to schedule the delivery for his own convenience before they send it back to me.
I get a second email from the ID claiming that he spent almost an hour on the phone with the post office and they were telling him the tracking number is wrong. I was certain I had it right, but I checked it anyway. Sure enough, it was fine. But now he's not only complaining about the post office being lazy for only attempting one delivery, he's blaming me for using them. They only tried to deliver it once because they were waiting for *him* to tell them when he wanted them to try again!
I went to the post office's website and in less than five minutes had the damn thing scheduled for delivery. I even copy-pasted the tracking number from the email I sent him just to make sure I had it right the first time. I'm going to keep track of this thing to ensure that it gets delivered. Got to figure out what I'm going to do if I find out he's refusing delivery.
