Seraph, is that something they actually said?
Magpie, that is mild compared to some of the things clients have said to web developers at this site: http://clientsfromhell.net/

    Check it out!

Oh, I've read the entire archives, and follow them on Twitter. But that doesn't change the fact that I wanted to be sure that the client did say that, in as many words, before laughing at it having been said.

So basically this person is saying, "Do a ton of work for me right now, and I might possibly hire you somewhere down the line in the mid-to-distant future?"
I get people like that all the time (freelance support). I'm also noticing a lot of thinly-veiled requests for free tech help (never is it a simple issue) on Craigslist. If I respond to one, I phrase it in such a way that they have to actually reply if they want help. I never get any type of response.
"I am quite confident that I do exist."
"Excuse me, I'm making perfect sense. You're just not keeping up." The Doctor

Just drop her down the educated eggdicator. :-)
            It's a lot of nonsense.

A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men.

Anyway, they wanted a shinier website? What the hell does that even mean?
