Quite pleased today, but suprrised as well...
Arrested a shoplifter, called the police, and issued banning notice, as per, then as is also usual kept the offender calm by chatting politely to them. As is also usual I had a store detective i 'borrow' from another store to detain anyone (for witness purposes and just in case things get hairy). Anyhow part of the conversation went as follows
Detained Person DP
Me CL
My supervisor MS
Store Detective SD
DP (to SD) So you dont work for here?
SD No I work elsewhere
DP, Ah yes you work at XXX
SD Yes thats right, how do you know?
DP JUst noticed you around
SD Oh ok
DP Umm, have you got any jobs going?
CL
SD
MS WTF?
To recap, this guy had just been busted for shoplifting, so the SD knew he was a thieving git, but the offender just asked for a job, who in their right mind thinks that is the right way to get an interview?
