I never use boiling water for ANY tea. It destroys the oxygen content of the water and ruins the flavor of the tea. Makes it taste like industrial cleaning fluid.

Actually I'm quite fond of chai - Indian style tea. It's actually boiled, and there are often black pepper or other flavourings added. I make a masala chai (spiced tea) which is a milk tea with cardamom and other spices. But it's an entirely different drink.
