What if the numbers go up, but the street goes downhill, like in my neighborhood?
Each one of us has a special place just like the Evergreen Forest. Enchanting, sparkling, and perfect. And, like the flowers that bloom there... fragile.

While there are many ways to interpret the phrase "down the street," as mentioned previously, there is one interpretation that supersedes all others. "Down the street" means the direction in which I am pointing.

I think you just won this discussion.

"Are you offended? Everyone has privates."
Pity you couldn't have said 'And I invite you to consider the meaning of that word'.

ah, but infinite monkeys, what about towns/cities where the roads are not numbered numerically?

Is it down to weston street along oxford road or is it up?

When we lived in Virgina, near the beach, and my parents lived in the mountains of North Carolina, my DH and I could never agree.

He always referred to going UP to see them, since they lived at a higher elevation.

I insited it was going DOWN to see them because they were south of us.

I always refer to south as down, north as up, just like on the maps - I may not be right, but at least, I'm consistant (and stubborn)

              Madness takes it's toll....
              Please have exact change ready.

Forward is north, backward is south, left is west, and right is east.

Seriously, has TMI lost all meaning.

Other girl in the group is trying to figure out if they have enough shampoo to last the evening. She asks obnoxious girl if she took a shower that morning. Obnoxious girl loudly states "Hell no, I overslept. I barely had enough time to brush my teeth and wash my privates."
to be less vulgar she could've said "I barley had time for a "whore's bath"" or
                    i took a PTA* bath
*higlight for definition: Pussy, Tits & Ass

or took a sink bath, or "brush my teeth and wash my bits"

It all says the same thing, just without being so blatant

but - consider the site, consider the source - if she had said any of those, we wouldn't be talking about it...

Far too many people go shopping with the express intent of pissing off a cashier by saying something shocking. & when what they say doesn't get the reaction that they wanted then they themselves get all pissed off.

Help yourself. Just, you know, try not to use them on someone who would beat you up for implying promiscuity.
