      We get to do that at work, to pushy salespeople (if they're nice, I just brush them off politely). If they're lucky, I just put them on Hold and leave them there. If they're not lucky, I have been authorised to have their call go to Ms. Waite. First name, Helen.

        I did something like that once. I came into my work on my day off to pick something up, and spotted two guys I knew from school waiting by the information desk. They asked me if I could help them, and I told them I wasn't working that day. Apparently the jeans, heavy metal T-shirt, sneakers, and the complete lack of any sort of uniform or name tag wasn't obvious enough. So they asked me to find them someone who could help them. I told them "if" I saw anyone I'd send them back. And then I headed straight for the door.

        Don't get me wrong, if it was someone I was friends with, I would have, but I didn't particularly like either of those guys.

              Still trying to get my head around this one. He thought you didn't work there but that you should just run off and get him someone who does? What universe does he inhabit, where total strangers will respond to his whim?

                I might have directed him to whichever of my ass cheeks was closer to him, but beyond that, no.

                I reckon what his problem was is that he was just too damn stupid to be out in public alone.
