My roomie recently got a minor parking ticket for a Loading Zone...You can't park there after something like 10am, but a guy who ran the store he was going to told him that they don't bother writing tickets until eleven...He left the store at 11:05 and was apparently surprised to find a ticket on his car (there was no ticket at ten til, so the shop worker was right)...I just don't have the heart to ask him WHY he was surprised >_<

It was $25, so I just told him to pay the ticket and get it over with >_>

Well, crazy boot lady just gave us some more business

Seems that she's a deadbeat in more ways than one, not only does she try to forge parking passes instead of buying them, and refuses to pay parking tickets she gets on the street, but, she also has refused to pay her rent at the apartment SHE lives at, resulting in the landlord revoking her parking privileges and adding her car to a "tow on sight" list.

The very day it went on the list, I found it and had it towed in

She came in barking mad and argued with us up and down that what we did had to be illegal because she had a permit. Yes, a revoked one we pointed out, several times, before she finally left declaring that she was going to have a talk with her landlord and that revoking someone else's parking was "the stupidest thing" she's ever heard.

Must've lost the argument with the landlord, because the next night I saw her car out on the street by her apartment.

And the morning after, it was booted, again. Guess she STILL hasn't paid all those tickets.

If nothing else, she should be admired for her tenacity and determination for wanting to be a total asshole. Well done, miss !!

She did have to pay your towing fee to get it back though, right?

The mind boggles at her stupidity. Not just ordinary stupidity, but utterly concrete-skulled, sludge-brained, dumber-than-dogcrap stupidity.

There is a time to be stubborn and hold on to your ideals, and a time to accept that you can't have your way, and follow the rules. She doesn't seem to comprehend that what she is doing is not just wrong and illegal, but stubbornly stupid.

Fining her and towing her car won't change that. This is the kind of deep-down stupid that hitting her in the wallet won't fix. She needs a or ten.
I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.

Talk about job security! As long as there is human stupidity, you are always going to have plenty of cars to tow and stay in business.

Maybe she needs to give up on having a car and learn to take a bus?

My former job was ticket writer for the city, if it weren't for my knees going bad, and the death threats I would've stayed at that just for the entertainment value of people trying to get out of tickets.

Well, the cops came by this morning, took the boot off, and immediately, (as in had-them-waiting-not-10-inches-away-with-motor-revving) had a tow truck from another company here in town hook the car and haul it away.

Looks like she never learned a thing

Odds are she'll be screaming at somebody to get her car back with no success.

I do recall a story I once read on this board about the lady at a deli counter who had the police called on her; she almost learned the hard way that the cops are not impressed by your title or your threats. Remove the "almost" part, and you've probably got what will happen to this gem.
