So, first off, HI! I'm new here, but unfortunately I have sucky customers too
So here's my story. First off, I work at a fine arts camp, like rich people band camp. I was working in the side camp for middle-schoolers. So of course the kids are spoiled and stuff, but generally they're pretty good. I served their meals.
Last year, on the final closing day for camp, I had to do my final shift by myself, because my serving partner called in sick. Breakfast goes fine, and of course, now I have to tear down everything and clean for winter, when the camp is closed. It's raining outside (important), and the kids were pretty muddy when they came through for breakfast.
So, I bleach and clean and sanitize everything, all that's left is to sweep and mop. It's about 11:30 AM, and I'm still cleaning when I'm supposed to be helping the people from main camp serve closing lunch...but of course my boss says that I'm doing a great job and to just keep working, because he's awesome
.
So I sweep, and start mopping. The room is set up like a typical dining hall, but there's this massive fireplace in the middle that makes it kind of hard to see the back part of the hall, us servers even tend to take breaks back there because it's hard to see. I already mopped back there, and was mopping the corner that was clearly visible from the door...or so I thought.
Lady comes in, looks around, harumphs, and walks ALL AROUND THE HALL...including into the back section...covering my freshly mopped floor in mud. Then, when she finds me (like I was hiding?) she starts to yell at me for not letting her "precious baby" use the employee bathroom. Camper bathrooms are down a hallway, but nooooo, her baby should have gotten to use our employee only one. Turns out, he told her that we let another kid who was about to throw up use our bathroom once (apparently, it wasn't me that did, because they would have to go through the kitchen to do it) I tell her that I didn't, and the reasons why. She then wants my boss, who I explain I can't get because that would mean she was alone in the kitchen. I tell her where to go, and of course, she got lost...at least I didn't have to deal with her anymore, and when I had remopped the hall, I went and explained what happened to my boss. He says that I did the right thing, and that because we only had a half hour of serving time left, I could go ahead and eat lunch then go home.
I kind of really enjoy having my boss around.
