First, the a**hole. He had 4 packs of a toilet paper on special this week when the limit is one. I tell him this, and he yells at me and says "I will pay full price for the other three. Don't get smart with me!" and "You're being smart with me!" All I told him was that there was a limit of 1!
Next, the idiot. A woman had only a package of meat and rice that is on special this week. I scan the meat, bag it, and then scan a card for which has the rice UPC on it. I give her the total, and she goes on about needing them to be rung up together not two seperate things because she has to spend $10 to get the full sale for the rice. I tell her they ARE on the same order and that I didn't need to scan the rice, and she proceeds to look at both items and give me a confused look. Then when she finally gets it, she asks me what do I need to do now? I tell her she needs to pay, and gives me a confused look again before asking me why her two things totaled $18 (the meat was $12 and the rice was $6 approx.). So she finally pays and I give her the receipt and tell her about the survey we are offering to let customers take online where they can get a $5 coupon for doing it. After I tell her, she asks "Do I need to do this now?" I tell her no, you do it on the computer, and she asks "is it by phone?" Wow...
