I was about to place all the blame on the mother, until I got to the part about them being old enough to know better.

That sucks that your manager won't let you do anything about it. Is there anyone above him you could take it up with?

Is there a department that handles liability (sorry my knowledge is call centers not retail), maybe loss prevention? Maybe ask Corporate to clarify their stance on Minors playing with cutting boards (which if sharp enough can cut off kids fingers) scissors (which can be used to stab someone), and shooting staples at other people (which can injure or blind someone), as you wish to know whom it needs to be reported to when (dont say if) this happens.

I used to work in a grocery store, so I know how annoying it is to have kids in the store creating a ruckus (and seemingly no parent in sight to control the madness).

I've been known to simply say "Seriously? This isn't a playground..." just loud enough to draw attention to the kids and give them a short glare, then go back to my shopping. That usually solves the problem and they go running to mom. By the way, I'm 6' tall (I'm a girl) and apparently I'm "intimidating".

          Free Snacks!

So, where's your store? I'm getting the munchies and would like to eat for free.

Yes, to both of these! And document, document, document. Otherwise when this happens > Focker will pin the blame on you, saying you should've stopped them, despite the fact that he denied you permission to do so.

Absolutely shameful that these kids are so out of order. And they know what they are doing is wrong. They're being bad on purpose, not out of ignorance.
I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.

Too bad you can't get someone to be near them when they start shooting staples, and have them SCREAM and hold their eye, yelling,"My eye, my eye!" and falling to the floor, crying and screaming and rolling around.......

And then threaten to sue the mom if it turns out that they've been blinded by her kids......

(If I was near your store, I'd totally do it for you).

As much as I despise those who throw lawsuits around like darts, I agree, and would volunteer, but I'm no closer.

These kids need to be taught a lesson. Sadly, their mom won't discipline them, and it sounds like management has their thumb so far up their ass they've muted their vocal cords. I've always been the kind to ask forgiveness, not permission, however, I do believe that's why I was taken off phones and given servers to play with. :-P

Ugh....they came back to pick their laptop up tonight. And once again the kids were allowed to run amuck, completely unsupervised. TO my surprise they were somewhat better behaved than before, but that's not saying much. To quote the Angry Video Game Nerd, that's like saying the shit I took today was better than the shit I took last night.

They did stay out of the copy center, but this was only because other people were there using it.

The two middle kids decided to engage in what I can only describe as some sort of weird Wizard of Oz jumping contest. They'd jump as high as possible and click their heels at the apex of the jump, then try to out-do each other. This was taking place right next to the display laptops.

Meanwhile, the youngest was running all over the store playing with shit he shouldn't play with. I chased him away from the display safes, then yelled at him from halfway across the store "NO RUNNING!!!" (no, he wasn't running because I'd chased him away. This was several minutes later.

The youngest apparently has been taught that it's ok to just throw your jacket wherever you want to when you aren't using it, such as draping it over product on the shelves.

And all were being loud and obnoxious.

Yes, I brought to the sales manager's attention that these were the same brats who stole food the other day.

No, she declined to make the mother pay for it.

And you know what the worst part is?

The mother just purchased another $300 worth of tech services from us for their other computers.

Which means they'll be back at least one more time.
