    This makes me sad.

There was an awesome teacher I had in elementary school. His name was Mr Kogel.

I do not know his first name even to this day. I'm not even sure if he's still alive...but I can't find out because I don' t know his first name.
Possibly you could call up the school and ask them? I imagine they'd have records of teachers who used to work there, if he's retired or moved now.

Googlesearch his last name along with the name of the school, never know what might come up. You can find out all sorts of things that way.

Just some suggestions, don't know what you've tried.

I knew the first names of very few of my teachers, at least until college ... One of my best was one whom I had for three years straight in HS...Scott. The one and only time I ever got in trouble with him was the day that I corrected his grammar on something in the middle of a class session >_> Turns out, English teachers don't appreciate that sort of thing, for some reason... We actually got along BETTER after it happened, tho (once I had served my detention); he appreciated that I had some juevos, apparently I still never did anything like that again, but it was still worthy of remembrance.

This needs to be a scientific study. The fact that people cease to be people at work.
I'm working on it. Or something similar, at least.

A psychology degree, a writing hobby, an active imagination, and four years of retail work experience have combined into an idea for a research project. I want to write articles (perhaps a book?) about the psychology of retail, both from the customers' and the employees' perspectives. I have some notes. I just have to find time to do some writing and observing.

And it would help if I had some kind of sponsor, but I can't afford graduate school yet.

Don't know. Somehow, especially here in the UK, I am noticing that "the Mrs" is supposed to be only called "the Miss" or "Miss Lastname", first names are not even on the boards marking where to find whom during parents' day...

I know my Primary School teacher's first name only because one day I asked her. I joined that class in the second class as I had moved from a different part of town during the summer.
"Sorry, Mrs. Moro, what is your first name?"
"It's Maria, and thanks for asking because nobody had, yet".
          So, there

I'd read that.... sounds like it would be super interesting.
