I used the Giovanni organic care until my hair started to go like straw. Now I use Dove 2 in 1. But: if I want extra fragrance, I put some into a bottle and then add in a few drops of essential oil to scent it. (I picked up The Enchanted Formulary by Lady Rhea ages ago and while the oils have obvious purposes in magick/Paganism, I go with her idea that adding a few drops to your shampoo takes the essences of the oils with you. If I wanted, say, luck, I throw in a bit of wintergreen, cinnamon and vanilla; if I feel romantic I will mix up the Rose Fleur oil and add it in. If you guys are looking to get extra moisturizing out of your shampoo/conditioner, buy some pure jojoba oil and put it into your shampoo. Don't EVER use mineral oil, it doesn't make your skin breathe. Jojoba closely mimics your own natural body and scalp oils.)

I really ought to use some of the mango coconut conditioner I have...talk about moisturizing and it smells so good I want to eat it.

Right now I'm using an Axe 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner.
      axe smells god awful.

It causes massive breakage of the hair.
SLS wreaks your hair. Its in every (well, 99%) of department/grocery store shampoos.

      SLS FREE. GO.

I usually use Aveda. So much for cheap shampoo. Aside from L'Oreal Kids, it's one of the few that leaves my scalp feeling clean without residue, being over-dry, itching, flaking, smelling like Selsun blue, etc.

Why do people ask us so many product questions? We're not experts; many of us make minimum wage. That's why they put product info on the boxes.
And why I would make a big deal of actually reading that information off the label in front of them.

Yeah, then they get all persnickety with you.

As for shampoo, I use the generic versions of Paul Mitchell's Shampoo One and Detangler. They do a good job, and Shampoo One smells really nice.

See, this why I'm not a good candidate to cover the cosmetician's break and lunch.

Had another person today chastise me for not helping him. The item he wanted was behind the pharmacy counter, somewhere I'm forbidden to go. So, I explained that I couldn't get it for him and the lovely pharmacy folk could. Well, he said, "Whatever, you just don't want to help me." and left.

              Idiot.

As for MY shampoo, well, I don't use any because my head is always shaved bald. A few swipes of the bar soap on the scalp work for me.

Done that so many times with Nutrition labels on food products. I expect it to happen now.

My mom taught me one basic lesson.
"When you think of buying something, unless it is highly advanced and you can consult an expert, if you can't understand what it is/does from the box DON'T BUY IT"
And more or less at the same time I realised that most supermarket workers will know where things are (usually it is them who stacked the shelves in the first place) but are not paid or trained to be experts. And usually have something better to do than show you where the eggs are, so only ask if you are honestly lost and have already looked around for a while, and apologise and thank before AND after.

Thanks for the "shampoo is shampoo" thing. I realized shampoo is detergent just like dish soap and now i just use shampoo to wash my dishes. Saves me 4$

I use plain ol' bar soap sometimes. But only if it's Pears soap. Other than that it's generally VO5 or Aussie. Depends on how broke I am (I can buy a bar of Pears soap from DollarTree for a buck and it's the same expensive bar soap found on websites).

I'm trying bar shampoo and it's awful. I can't see bar soap being better. I need to wash all the way down to my shoulders with it, and my hair is greasy again in two days. Less if I forget the vinegar rinse.
