On the pills thing, I know for me that yeah, I can take the pills...but there's sometimes only a 50/50 chance or less that they'll work. If I want to have a cheeseburger? Yeah, they'll probably work. If I want to have even the tiniest bite of cheesecake? NOTHING WORKS.

I don't know that the Lactaid products would work for you then either. They're all based on the same idea. (You've tried upping the dosage of the pills?) I know that there's a difference in that it's been removed first, so if there's something about your body-chemistry that nullifies the enzyme, the pre-processed stuff would help.

Are you sure it's lactose intolerance? There's other dairy sensitivities out there too. And trust me, they SUCK, because you have to have the "yes, I appreciate you getting lactose-free milk for me, but that doesn't do anything" conversation a hundred times.

I'm lactose intolerant... so I drink Silk. My favorite is the Very Vanilla because it reminds me of carnation instant breakfast. ^_^ I've never liked the taste of milk and the regular silk tastes too much like milk to me.

I knew a milk delivery guy who knew a family who watered down their skim milk because it was "too thick."

          Powdered milk is beyond nasty.

I could always tell when my sister (not Becks) had some in the fridge because it was never got as cold as regular milk.
          I'm bringing disdain back...with a vengeance.

Oh, and your tool box called...you got out again.

::sniffle:: Skim is all I can have on my diet. I would KILL for 2%. Skim is like water with a bit of milk dribbled in.

Also, Grape the Cat - I giggled at your avatar, because the first thing I said was "Please state the nature of the medical emergency." I love that show.

I'm lactose intolerant, plus I have so many digestion issues I can't use Lactaid tablets except for once in a great while. It's like playing russian roulette with your stomach.
I like Vanilla Silk, especially with honey nut cheerios or frosted mini wheats, it's so tasty. I also like the Chocolate, if you heat it up, it's the best hot cocoa ever. The very vanilla tastes like frosting, and if I can ever get ahold of one of those little juice-box sized containers of that, I make the best frosting ever!
Other than that, super aged cheese like sharp cheddar is generally what I eat, but that's once in a while because it can make me nauseous.
I miss dairy so much, you never know how much you'll miss chip dip.
Oh wook at teh widdle babeh dwaggin! How cyuuute babeh dwag-AAAAAAAUUUGGGHHHH! *nom*

Well, I'm pretty sure. I can have lactose-free milk with no problems. It's just apparently some foods have too much lactose or something? I haven't upped dosage past 4 pills, as it seems like it would then be getting ridiculous...like if I need 10 pills to eat something maybe I just shouldn't eat it, you know?

I once somehow, miraculously, had a double-scoop ice cream cone at Baskin Robbins. Took 4 pills, but didn't get sick. It was awesome.

While I can certainly agree with that sentiment, I keep it to myself. I buy my 2%, other people can have their vaguely milk-flavored water.
I have to agree on that one! I get 2% and it's perfect. Skim or non fat milk is evil but hey I'm not gonna tell a store to not carry it.
