We have people who do this all the time and I just cringe. For a package of 30 Claritin we charge $19.99 and we have the generic version right next to it in a pack of 30 for $3.49. You wouldn't believe how many people insist that they want the brand. With the recall of many brand name products, many of our customers have been forced to try the generics and they are seeing that they do work just as well.

Personally, I feel much safer taking generic drugs. When a brand name drug is first okayed by the FDA, the original manufacturer gets 20 years of patent protection before it can be sold by others (generic versions). My reasoning is that if a drug is available in generic form, then it has been out on the marketplace long enough to know for sure that there are no serious side effects or other problems that it can cause.

And the reason why the store doesn't have any fucking Tylenol is because it was fucking recalled for some fucking reason and the fucking maker of Tylenol hasn't gotten good fucking product out to the fucking stores yet.

The swamp's been out of Tylenol for a long time now, and we hadn't gotten replacement product in when I left for vacation last week. I have gotten some people questioning this, but they haven't been flying off the handle like the one in the OP did.

Yeah, it was a blues rock band that released one album (Choice Cuts) in 1972 led by Don "Sugarcane" Harris & Harvey Mandel.

I had a co-worker ask me to pick her up some Tylenol when I went on break once. I ran upstairs and got her a package of acetaminophen (what she had asked for, right?) She looked at it, asked "what's this?" and said she wasn't going to take it because she didn't know what it was. (Yes, I told her it was what she'd asked for).

I'm not sure whether to be disgusted that she takes stuff without knowing with it is, or not. At least when she didn't know what she was taking she didn't just trust me.

If you have a really good prescription plan on your insurance it can be cheaper to get brand name drugs with a scrip. I only pay $7 for 30 days of Prilosec. It costs a lot more to buy OTC.

My aunt had the best prescription plan ever! For quite a few years she only paid 50 cents per prescription. Then it went up to a dollar (OMG it doubled ) Still fantastic.
