I don't know what number I'm on. I picked 69 because I like 69. I have this conversation more often than I would like.

Me: What's your phone number? (Sometimes it's address.)
SC: It's not a local number/address

Well no shit! You're staying at a hotel. This is the type of business that's DESIGNED for people like you. People who are from out of town and need shelter. Sometimes it's for guys who need the room for an hour, but mostly it's for people who need a place to stay while in the beautiful state of Colorado.

I would have said (well, maybe not, I'm too chicken): Really, darn, then I can't call you to help me out when my car is stalled.

At the library we get the opposite responses. People call us asking for phone no./address for places not in the area. So when we ask "Is it in Houston?" we get a "duh!" tone with their response, "yes, it's in Houston.(duh)"

I think they are expecting you to push a button that makes balloons and confetti come out of the ceiling, with a big sign that says "CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!" That, or they're just dumb

That type of thing is one of the things that drives me insane. I ask clear, concise questions that allow for easy answers, instead they give me one of those.

rant Fill in (blank) with phone number, their name, the time, or virtually anything

What the fuck difference does it make!?! It's still your fucking (blank) isn't it!?! Do you have a different (blank) for that variable? If that's the case, that's the fucking (blank) I wanted you fucking tool!

Sorry for the rant. Numerous people do this to me, but in particular I've got two CW's who cannot give an easy answer.
