I have made it on granary bread when I couldn't get the walnut, and it was good, but put it with the walnut bread and it's to die for....

Dunno where to get walnut bread, but the kosher grocery around the corner sells Brie and grapes, and it's about lunchtime... I assume you slice the grapes first, or they'd fall out of the bread.

So this guy is complaining about going hungry for 2 hours, and yet he has access to a phone? Was I not the only one who would have suggested he order something delivered?

He would probably insist, "that's women's work!"
i don't doubt this for a second; that stance really reinforces a lack of sympathy.

if the phone works, as hero said, call out and get something. he's lazy on three accounts, making him a three time loser.

...while I watch End of Time on my phone and wonder why David Tennant left the series.

Fell off of a stage and injured his back. He REALLY regrets leaving the series. He has often been quotes as wishing he kept it to light duty and took a little time to recover and then go back to the series. He misses it as much as we miss him.
I don't know which is more disappointing - the fact that I missed the final David Tennant episode or the fact that he's leaving (left?) for good. I thought the whole point of having just 4 shows a year was to accommodate Tennant's desire for a reduced schedule?

By the way, assuming that End of Time is out in the United States: where did either of you find the episode?

Netflix but before that it was some site that was streaming it. Not sure how legal those sites are but get some good proxies and you should be ok. Unless they really want to get you. Then you're screwed. Still the new doctor is ok. Just takes some getting use to. New season starts in December so we'll see what happens.

maybe bbc.com might have some way of helping you, outside of ordering it or getting it from a local bookstore.

yes, we miss the david, yes we do...mm, david tennant.

SC: *cue ... several unnecessary analogies to Nazi Germany
If only we were allowed to just walk away / hang up from SC's who violate Godwin's Law. There aren't many who do, but the satisfaction would be so worth it

Matt Smith rocks as the Doctor. He's the only other doctor besides Tom Baker who I didn't have to get "used" to. He just melds into the role. And Amy Pond is one of the best Companions ever, if not THE best ever!

As for the SC of the OP: His real bitch is he wants his power on and he wants it on NOW!!!!!

All this other crap about starving is his attempt at emotional blackmail.

Let him eat Cornflakes! (with apologies to Marie Antoinette)

Dude would starve at my house.

I regularly eat cereal for meals...I hate to cook and I tend to get lazy.

                      What a douchebag.

Same. I can't cook (or, at least, not until they create a stove that is low enough to the ground that I can use it), so when my parents aren't home, I eat a lot of cereal, sandwiches, canned soups, oatmeal...pretty much anything that doesn't require me to use kitchen appliances that are at boob-level with me.

even though i can cook, cooking for one is still in the 'getting used to' phase. i also eat cereal, oatmeal, pb n j, veggies, crackers and hummus or whatever else i can put together quickly.

pops would also starve, since the words 'please' and 'thank you' are missing from his vocabulary.

the emotional blackmail wouldn't work; i tell my son to cook for himself frequently (he's 17).

If that's emotional blackmail, I know 5-year-olds that are better at it. He's obviously never spent any time around kids or teenagers if he thinks that weak attempt is going to work.

OP, I applaud you. I'm not sure I could have prevent myself from snickering out loud at the corn flakes comment.
