Yeah, its the idiots like this that seem to get the attention, not us sane and reasonable guys .

One of these days we will crawl out of the neanderthal days, and those guys will realize that they are being jerks..it might take us awhile though.
Engaged to the amazing Marmalady. She is my Silver Dragon, shining as bright as the sun. I her Black Dragon (though good honestly), dark as night..fierce and strong.

Working on the human body is not 'technical'. Even if it's brain surgery. Didn't you know that?

      Rocket science: technical.

      Brain surgery: not technical.
      It's not rocket surgery?

Ugh. Way to go. People like that make me glad I can't set them on fire from a distance (if only because of the legal entanglements involved).

In one of the national parks where I worked, I had just gotten a car and was getting it ready for a massive road trip across the US. Since the only place to park was in front of the dorms, I had to put up with one of my (female) neighbors coming by when I was tinkering, and shrieking at me to get out from under that hood, because I was female and thus didn't know anything about cars, and I was going to break the car, and I should let a man do it. To which I responded the first time "I'm checking the oil and the transmission fluid. I don't think that'll make my car explode," and turning my back to her. The second time I just ignored her.

I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.

When I started driving, my dad made sure I knew how to check the fluids, add oil, change the filter, and change a tire all by my self. As long as it doesn't involve the electronic components (the computer driven stuff needs special training and is not for the faint of heart) I do a lot of my car maintenance myself, especially on my Jeep. I've changed battery cables, batteries, air filters, tweak the carberator, all kinds of stuff.

When my dad passed, Mom let the battery on Dad's car die. I needed to get it running so I could sell it. I brought my battery charger over and recharged the battery.

Mom was amazed. She went on and on about how I was able to recharge a car battery

One of my unbending standards for lady-friends is that they are capable of using a computer without constant hand-holding. I've had too much trouble that way with my mother already.

Fortunately, so far that hasn't been much of a problem.
