Oh yes, so you'd think. But remember Stella - the woman that successfully sued Mickey D's several years because their coffee was too hot. (Refresher course on Stella - she had ordered coffee at their drive-through and was burned when the hot coffee splashed on her knees where she decided to park the takeout cup)
    *sigh*

Stella was not driving, the car was stopped, she required 2 years of therapy and skin grafts, and the McDonald's in question had been cited repeatedly for serving their coffee too hot. And the jury found her partially at fault, too. She sued them as a matter of last resort because they refused to pay the $20,000 in medical bills (about 5 seconds worth of McDonald's coffee sales, if I'm remembering correctly).

    ^-.-^

Note also that the McDonald's in question was found to be selling the coffee at the proper temperature, that ~24,000,000 other people seem to be able to consume the coffee without report-worthy incident, and the jury was "an obviously sympathetic jury" toward Stella. It wasn't as bad as has often been retold, but the article linked still doesn't make me terribly sympathetic to her suit over a failure of common sense.

          Too late.

Everyone get back on track, please.

This isn't a debate about the McDonalds/scalding coffee incident. This very incident has sparked enough controversy in the past to have threads shut down, and has NOTHING to do with the topic in the OP.

          Thanks.

You could put those concrete barriers they use on roads, have a complete SWAT team in full Riot gear, and barbed wire..there are customers that would still try to get through.

The time we had the Epic Thunderstorm From Hell (softball-size hail blown around by 100-mph winds or so), I'm told people had to almost be dragged out of the garden center outside into the store for shelter. Something about the sky turning blackish-green and sirens wailing still managed not to click with people.

That storm wiped out damn near our entire plant inventory out there. I worked that night after the storm had passed--the parking lot was covered in leaves and flowers and trays and pots and random plant parts.

((Begin a little off topic)) This is also why the zompocolypse would be so successful. SC's would just HAVE to check out the zombie infested area that was cordoned off. Not to mention they would see the shambling zombies coming toward them, and have to stop to snag that item they just HAD to have.
Engaged to the amazing Marmalady. She is my Silver Dragon, shining as bright as the sun. I her Black Dragon (though good honestly), dark as night..fierce and strong.

Problem is, the SCs would get caught by the zombies, and get bitten/infected, and become another zombie, thus just making the zombocalypse that much worse. Because in addition to the shambling and "Brrrrraaaaaaiiiiinnnnssss" we'd also have to deal with "Diiiiissssscooooouuuunnnnntssss."

(Somewhat) Back on topic is part of a story I really have to tell, a story heard from my days doing night-shifts at a gas station.

Skipping the long and odd story, the place got closed down one day because of a massive fuel spill. Three Firetrucks, cops, hazmat teams. Hazard tape on everything, main entrance to the place blocked off by cop cars.

But it had a side entrance from a side-street, and for the rest of the afternoon there were people showing up, trying to get gas from shut down pumps or trying to get into the obviously closed down station to 'Get Ice'. Extra points for the guy who drove in, around a cop car, and ripped off the hazmat tape around a pump, then got pissed when he got told he couldn't get gas.
