Really? How long did that keep up before management did something?

They never did anything about it really. With the larger ( = more expensive) cakes, we were supposed to offer to meet the customer at check out with it as a "courtesy", but we couldn't force that on them. The company refused to institute a pre-pay policy because they felt it would be inconvenient to the customers.

Wouldn't it be possible to find out where the baptism is happening? You know the name of the Cake Lady (if she gave her real name, that is).

Maybe I'm evil, but I'd like to see the face of the CL if the manager shows up at the baptism... with a police car...

I did that once. I ate at Pizza Hut, and then left without paying. I came back within ten minutes, when I realized my mistake. Once I got there, I explained my mistake and made it right by paying my bill. This certainly surprised them, for while they were already calling the police, they never imagined any dine & dasher would actually return and pay the bill.

I did that at a Denny's after a long day at Disneyland. Realized that we'd never paid just outside and walked right back in. The woman at the register was shocked that we bothered to do it.
